Tested: Fiocchi CovertX 9mm Review

The price is decent but with so many options for 9mm ammo it makes me wonder if this will make it. My carry ammo is the Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +p. I live close to GT Distributor which is a cop shop and a box of Hornady for 50 is $35 if I remember right. I know it’s not more than that it may have been $30. Federal HST 124gr +p is $30 for 50 and Speer Gold Dots are $40 per 50. But for the Fiocchi being the new kid on the block will it last long enough and be picked up by an agency and a lot of independent testing be performed? To me it’s not worth it seeing I can buy 50 rds of proven 9mm for what 40 rds of Fiocchi is and the price of shipping isn’t included. Thanks for the post I didn’t even know about this ammo.
 
It did good on the gel penetration, just wonder what it would do in the full test protocol.
I haven't been to GT in years. Maybe I check and see if they accept honorably retired officer id for that police officer price. I see they have a store now in Houston too.
 
thanks, very good review, however i am using federal premium hydra shock and or hst for my carry ammo in all calibers, have you had a chance to do a comparison between the covertx and the premium federal rounds, hydra shock and hst. i am continually checking gel test for expansion and penetration of different brands of ammo.
