Texas police say that more legally armed citizens were in the mall when the shooting happened.
Police say that Emanuel Duran, 32, who is a licensed-to-carry holder, shot the suspect as he was pointing his gun toward the direction of more bystanders.
An off-duty El Paso Police officer then arrived at the scene and worked with Duran to give aid to the suspect and others who were injured.

I agree. It is not being a teenager that is the problem.

Let's quit beating around the bush shall we ? Left wing politicians and anti-gun people are constantly manufacturing statistics that support their agenda. AR-15 is a weapon of war, 9MM blows the lungs out of the body, more and more "Ghost guns" are showing up at crime scenes, The Glock Switch is ravaging Chicago, etc.. Take the AR-15 and mass shooting thing. We can see by looking at this week's headlines that they are considering the shooting at that Michigan school a "Mass shooting". Therefore we must conclude that a guy with a pistol who shoots 3 people ( whether they die or not) has just committed a "Mass shooting". This happens daily in Chicago, St. Louis and many other places and no one ever hears about it. They cherry pick incidents to sensationalize to advance their agenda. I know I am not telling anyone anything new.

Okay, time for some facts. The fact is the issue isn't what the gun is or how many people the gunman shoots, it is the behavior. Anyone who attacks anything other than the behavior is either stupid or dishonest. Or both. If we are going to start parading lowest common denominators around we are in trouble because there is a lowest common denominator that is present in 90% of gun homicides in this country. The shooter is a young, urban, black male. Rather than dealing with the reasons this behavior by this demographic is so wide spread, these people want to start adding up denominators and blaming them. The gun was a semi automatic, The shooter was a teenager, blah, blah, blah. So in effect we have political correctness masquerading as "Common sense". If they really cared about stopping or reducing gun homicide they would not be blaming the NRA or lawful gun owners. The narrative by the pro gun community going forward should be this. " Anti-gunners only stump for new gun laws because they are racist and unwilling to address the reason why so many young black men are killing people." You will notice that these angry young black men always seem to be in "Blue" states and cities. We have young, black guys out here in the sticks too. And they are armed. What they aren't doing is going around shooting people. They are just trying to live their lives like the rest of us.

We need to focus our efforts on the subcultures of violence
