Same here; I hated that detail. Meeting the military survivors and hearing their stories was always great, but rendering the flag to the surviving spouse or family member was awful seeing the pain in their eyes at the loss of their love one. Proud to have experienced, though.

I have participated in more 3 round volley, folded a ton of flags and played taps more than I can remember. I spent the better part of 10 years participating as part of the base honor guard
