Three months after the war’s start, the United States played a crucial role in the outcome by executing an amphibious assault at Inchon. The United States military amphibious assault at Inchon was a massive operation that cut off North Korean troops, changed the outcome of the Korean War, and was significant in developing future military doctrine, strategies, and tactics.

After three years of intense fighting, the conflict resulted in a stalemate when the North and South Korean governments signed a ceasefire known as the Korean Armistice Agreement

I remember doing amphibious training using LSTs. They never got you to the beach with all that nice dry sand. Instead, you had to wade through knee deep water to get to the beach.
It wouldn’t have been so bad if we didn’t begin a tactical road march from the beachhead to Fort Hunter Liggett! Doing a road march in soaking wet jungle boots sucks.
Such is life for a Light Fighter🪖🇺🇸
