The Best Small Revolver: Smith & Wesson's Model 640

Yep its certainly a good one, great even. But best means a lot of things to a lot of people. I have always been a fan of the model 60 3 inch as the best of the breed of the small Jframe .357 magnum variants. The balance and weight along with good sights are best in class for me.

In the .38 Jframe, I always loved the Bodyguard but have come to decide the 642 in the UC variant to be the best and its tops on my buy list. The sights seperate it from the rest by a long margin.

I had one, mine was marked 38 Special, not +P, but I could just never warm up to it.

I almost sent it to TK Customs to be cut for moon-clips and chambered 9mm.
Wound up selling it for a little more than I had in it.

Everyone needs a J-frame. I have a Model 36. The 640 is great, but I want a Model 60 because I want an exposed hammer. Yes, I know why some people don't want an exposed hammer, that doesn't apply to me. Being able to single action should the need arise does.
