Irons on my M1 30-Cal, M1A and 1903A3 still the best I've used to date (A3 built 1943 (technically a Remington)...fitted with peep).

I also like 1903A3 sights.

As a rule, the majority of my Garands have the earlier lock-bar type rear sight with an unhooded NM aperture, and a NM front sight.
The lock-bar rear is because the windage drum is ridged all the way around as opposed to the T105s very, VERY small contact area with the windage ear. The NM front sight and rear aperture are purely for sharpness of sight picture.
There hasn't been a better set of sights designed since.........
