This weeks S&W release

Well apparently there is need to a “Compensates” 380.

I love S&W products and I know this is probably heard to older female shooters just don’t get the populations fascination with comps on everything these days!
Good luck to them

Have seen people with painful arthritis, they might could use something like this. Matter of fact with the arthritis in my thumbs might be looking for sonmmething like this myself, who knows. We never know what situation we might end up in, none of us.

I get that and have seen several that had issues with even a S&W EZ Shield.

For those folks that are not going to go to the range as regular shooters I recommend a 32 H&R revolver and stuff it with 32 S&W Long full wadcutters…why that iver a 22. Well 22 rimfire require a heavier trigger for reliability ignition over a center fire and the 32 S&W Long with wadcutters has not much more recoil or blast than a 22 mag

And Wadcutters in a short revolver wether 38 or 32 cut a full diameter hole in a sternum and gets 14-15” to the goods. And a 32 has less recoil than a 38 and an extra round!

Lots of naysayers on that but I have seen several detectives back I. The day kill a lot of bad guys and this was through the Memphis TN area where they shot people a lot!

As far as getting ammo it’s not a big deal you can find it as the 32 line has regained popularity and a case of 500-1,000 round will last the. A lifetime as they are simple fire extinguisher guns and are not shooting 50 rounds a week like most of us!

You and I both know the majority of shooters today won't go revolver. It's my 1st choice but most want a pistol with its lighter trgger, this fills a role for those.

I always point out the advantages of the revolver, and maybe 1 in 10 actually consider them.

You would be surprised how popular they have started to get the last few years. And that’s just not by us 50 something’s reconnecting to out first carry gun or the folks I see at the revolver roundup. You will always have a few tactical Timmy’s

I teach on my own now but was helping a indoor range and store this store has an I stock inventory of over 7,000 guns and in 2023 we did 3.5 million in Gunbroker sales alone and probably 2 1/2 times that on showroom stuff (just firearms not ammo and accessories)

We have a steady amount of revolver sales and from both new folks to the Gen Z Polymer kids wanting to try them out!

seems like everything gets a comp nowadays.
Lee Weems refers to them as “Velocity reducers” LOL

I see them quite a bit in classes. And hate to offend the cult church of compensators they have zero meaning on the application side aka self defense

Texhnical side at a USPSA match go at it and will probably save you a few seconds iver a 6-10 stage day not a 4 shot self defense scenerio but people just are convinced of the new stuff!

Free country so do you!

My .380 S&W Shield EZ Performance Center is ported…I’m not sure it makes a huge difference vis a vis recoil…it’s got quite a large grip, and is tilt-barrel, so recoil is fairly light to begin with, and .380 isn’t that high pressure of a cartridge that it’ll have a lot of gas to force the barrel down.

That being said, I can definitely run it faster than my Sig P238, given equal accuracy.

And, I’ve run a lot of hard-bucking handguns in my time—and a tiny, lightweight, blowback .380 will make my list of truly unpleasant guns to shoot without much consideration.

i must admit, my curiosity has been piqued with all the comp'd barrels coming out. i was eyeballing the s&w carry comp barrel/slide that can be purchased separately. when the price drops, maybe i'll dip my toe.
