Throwback Thursday: 5 “Good” .45 ACP Loads

Today, we have well-designed bullets that offer excellent feed reliability, even feeding in old GI guns for the most part. A modern bullet with a good balance of expansion and penetration considerably increases the wound potential of the .45 ACP cartridge.

Let’s look at five good loads, because “best” is a relative term.

I use the Winchester 230gr ball for targets and the Winchester 230 gr hollowpoint for defense. I was told that I should pick a brand and stick with it so the weapon wears evenly. It's dirty ammo and I'd probably pick different at this point but I've only had one misfire and that was from being gripped too lightly.

Finally an article describing "good" instead of "best." I find the "best" articles annoying for just that reason.
I don't use +P loads in any firearm I own. If you do, more power (pun intended) to you. If I deviate from a standard load, it's to use a lighter bullet at a higher speed, OTW, I'm loading not to exceed standard specs.
