Today, ticks can be found in all 50 states and around the world.

While they can be found everywhere, different types of ticks are in different areas and may carry different types of diseases.

Here we discuss the most common ticks, where they can be generally found, and the diseases they may transmit.

More natural stuff than DEET.

But I LIKE the pink one!
Pink is a good hi-vis color whereas green could be dropped when being deployed when you find swarms of those multiple tick species in MN are attacking & burrowing into you.

That being said I even got a tick on me in the middle of a MN winter after returning from an outdoor shooting range when I was stationed in the Duluth area awhile back.

Like the local residents, MN ticks must have anti-freeze in their $#@&* blood, wear parkas, and use XC skies to attack folks in the winter.

We only have one ^&%$@ species in my area, and not the hordes like in the eastern 1/2 of the US. The summer heat/dryness knocks them down by August, and we don't see them until early spring down low.

If I had one wish I'd have all ticks species exterminated.

I have a pink UPLULA in my range bag; it’s easy to find, and nobody will steal it.

Our vet has told us that any time it’s above freezing, ticks can be active…

The little bastard that was on (not in) me must have been an exceptional one.

Had to walk thru snow going back & forth from the benches to the target stands so I didn't see the little snowmobile it was using to get to me.

BTW - we have the first Eastern black-legged ones that have been found in two counties butting up against N. Dakota due to folks coming back from trips to N. Dakota with the ticks on their dogs.
