Wi-Fi gun detection

i am with you on the privacy issue, and have said so, many, many times....

but many also say i am "full of it"

if ANYONE in ANY sort of police, or gubberment position, aimed ANY SORT of camera ONTO my property, i would seek privacy reparation's.

i have ALWAYS said, that once one steps foot ONTO the sidewalk or into the street...YOU ARE IN PUBLIC...you LOST any privacy.

even our garbage cans, once placed onto or into the street..?? you lost what "privacy items" you had in them.

i fully support Flock cameras, and i fully support cameras at every street corner.

i fully support metal detectors at ALL public places and venues.

if a "private" business wants to install such devices, then do so......but DO NOT kick out people, UNLESS that person, or those people start some sort of disturbance.

many people HERE on this site, live in a lap of luxury and have no worries about gang bangers, thugs or other nefarious peoples.

and this same people HERE cry, moan and groan that "Thier civil rights are being violated"

well, la-dee-frickin-dah....

many of US do not live in such a luxurious city, town, or state, so we can use all the help we can get.

and don't NO ONE DARE to say..."then move away"......

when you know jack- :poop: about costs, the plethora of doctors some of us need, housing costs and locations, and hardships to the family in doing so, for MANY of us to go thru...at OUR AGES......

Just remember putting stuff up on this forum does come up in google searches. We are been looked at in so many different ways besides a noisy neighborhood ladies.

Hi,

It's the age old question; How much privacy will we sacrifice for the illusion of security and safety? Let me play devil's advocate.

You can't expect a lot of privacy when you're in public spaces. Everyone, if they're looking, can see you and your activities. I see Flock cameras taking the place of unreliable/unwilling eye witnesses. A lot of eye witnesses don't want to get involved. Most people walking down the street couldn't tell you at what time a certain vehicle drove by. Used properly, sparingly, and judiciously, Flock cameras can be very benificial at stopping crime and terrorism, and catching those responsible. But I have yet to be totally convinced that they are always used for good.

Wifi gun sensors are intrusive, along the lines of the 4th Amedment's "unreasonable search and seizure". The wifi invades my personal space, invades my person, looks into my pockets and clothes, much like a warrantless search of my house. This is not at all a good thing for law-abiding citizens, especially when false positives are already being reported, prompting armed police responses. This could be dangerous and tragic for innocent people.

For now, I'm going to have to leave it up to the people smarter and better looking than I am. I will vote, write my legislators, and keep myself informed. Sometimes I will even avoid places and events where I know I can't carry my protection. For now we are all free to make choices. Long live the Republic.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
Sadly Cliff. I believe it’s already too late. The breadth of government surveillance is already massive. One of 47’s biggest contributors Peter Thiel’s billion dollar business is surveillance and you better believe it’s directed at the citizenry, and not just the non-Trump voters. Flock cameras are small potatoes, as is gun scanning WiFi. They are all just small cracks in our privacy and We the People will continue to go about our lives distracted by foreign wars, gas prices, the stock market, etc, blissfully ignorant that invisible chains are being wrapped around us until it is simply too far gone for any of us to do anything about it.

And don’t forget the news that spewing out what they do. Also the algorithms of social media. I changed my algorithm so many times it’s not funny.

In today’s society, there is no privacy, our freedom is slowly slipping past us, both political parties are to blame, pretty soon we will just be a number…..while I don’t have any kids, they will be the ones who will be effected the most, honestly, most will be there own fault, they believe in the socialist platform right now, they are blind to see how the outcome will happen, by the time they open there eyes it will be to late, now I’m not saying all the younger generation is at fault, but hate to say most are. These newer type politicians can really influence them with little difficulty, that’s how they manage to keep there “power” I said enough and this will probably get removed……

You make a great point. Algorithms are effecting us in so many ways, practically pulling our strings. I read today that algorithms are even being used to charge us differently for the same products based on data collected about us. It’s kind of mind blowing how on a macro level we are being divvied up and put into groups.

I've not been able to find reason to be on the govt side since shortly after 9/11. Bush 2 trumpeted the Patriot act and people jumped on the bandwagon like that would save the world. Around the same time, came TSA and screwed up flying to where just a few of us remember what little freedoms we had. Have they stopped anything? Has the Patriot act solved anything?

No. They were directly aimed at the internal crap.

Flock cameras, Wi-Fi searching for weapons, ain't gonna be anything more than TSA and the Patriot act.

We've been had. And only those with their heads in the sand believe we're better off and safer.
