Hey gang,
Nothing special. I was bored this evening and decided to fit the Romeo5 red dot and a new muzzle device on my Saint Victor.
Yeah, I'm sure I'll want to move that red dot up a few spaces on the receiver. After I get the muzzle devices sorted I'll take it outside and adjust for proper eye relief and get it zero'd. As for the muzzle device, I removed the obnoxious stock muzzle brake and installed a regular A2 birdcage flash hider in order to attach the Blast Shield.
But I'll be darned if I didn't pick up an "extended" flash hider. I didn't even notice. It's a little longer that the standard. The Blast Shield would not fit. Drat. I'm such a noob. I was so disappointed, I didn't even try to install the new sling.
The locking fork is supposed to close in the slot at the back of the flash hider before tightening the unit. But this one is too long. Whatta dufus. I'll pick up the right flash hider and a few crush washers and get this thing installed. It's supposed to reduce the concussive force at the firing line and keep shooters around me from getting pizzed off.
Just in case you were curious, here's the link for the Strike Industries Blast Shield...

The weather's starting to warm up and I'm looking forward to getting outdoors with my new gear. I'll let you know.
Thanks for putting up with me.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
