XD mod3 eps red dot with plate #4

Has anyone mounted a Holosun eps on the #4 plate on an XD mod3. The optic comes with an adapter plate for the end plate but the supplied screws are too long to mount the adapter plate. The #4 plate should fit the eps but the supplied screws are not the right size either length or width! Not sure where to get the right screws. Was told by support that the plate 4 screws should be m4v.07 but not given a length. I’ve been searching everywhere including Amazon. Screws I ordered are Phillips head and don’t for the optic correctly. Anybody have any success?

Hi!

And welcome to the forum!

I did not use the factory adapter plate. I ordered one from C&H, along with screws and installation kit.

Let me see if I can find my posts on the subject...

This may not directly answer your question, sorry. But the C&H parts are top notch. Their installation kit was easy to use. They have helpful videos on the website. Even a bass player could do it.

Thank you for your indulgence,

i put a viridian green optic on my legacy 9mm xd 4 inch service pistol end of last year, SA had it on thier upgrades in the store. to buy a new slide that was cut and machined
it came with several plates, which was good as it seems the number of plates and mountings are very confusing
then viola this place popped in and the good folks here put up the links to to the places that brought much of the confusion out in the open and i got it sorted out
my hellcat came with a viridian and i liked so for me having same same (live steam and dead steam ) made it easier to keep things operational

@Dante9121,

On my XD Mod.3 I mounted a Holosun 507c-x2 which required a #3 plate I ordered from SA. It came with the proper screws for mounting to the slide.

The Holosun came with 2 sets of screws for mounting the optic that were different lengths. I think I used the shorter screws.

If the screws for mounting the plate are too long contact SA customer support. If the screws for mounting the optic to the plate are too long or the incorrect size I would contact Holosun customer support. SA customer support can only give you the thread size but not the length since not every optic has the same thickness.

Prior to mounting anything on the handgun lightly mount the optic to the slide and measure how far the screws extend out the bottom of the slide. If the screws don't thread into the plate then just push a screw fully into the optic and lay the plate next to it to see if the length is too long or short. Subtract or add that length from/to the current screw for your length with the proper thread pattern supplied by SA customer support.

Does the optic fit over the posts on the plate and line up properly with the mounting holes? If not, confirm you actually have a #4 plate.

Good luck

Thank you. Sa gave me the size and the pitch for the plate 4 mounting holes. No length. M4a.07.
SA can't give you the length!

There are multiple brands of optics that will fit that plate and not all of those optics will have the same thickness. That's why you have to measure the thickness of the optic by seating a screw in the optic and then add the thickness of the plate as I suggested above for the 2 combined. Then along with the screw size and pitch from SA pick the 1st screw length shorter than that length from Holosun customer service or any other reputable supplier (for a good quality screw).
