XDm Elite 9mm Compact magazine sleeve/backstrap for 20+1 Elite magazine

Hey, all. First post! I recently purchased an XDm Elite 9mm Compact pistol (my fifth Springfield pistol!). and also purchased 2 of the XDm Elite 20+1 magazines.

Was hoping you Springfield die-hards could help me with a question about the new elite compact model: I was wondering if the old XDm compact magazine sleeve/backstraps would fit correctly, or if new sleeve/backstraps for the elite mags would be forthcoming, as they don't seem to be available. Those 20+1 mags aren't being sold with the sleeve/backstraps like the old 19+1 mags for the compact. What gives?

I believe the 19 round mags for the XD-M 3.8 Compact will work with this newer model. I'm going to check out my LGS this weekend to see if they have any in stock. I need the ones with the large back straps.

Unfortunately the answer is no to both. Because the gen 1 XDM Compacts already have a 19rd mag/sleeve system that creates a full size grip, and fits the Elite Compacts with a quick removal of the flared well, there’s no need to do the same for the 20rd mags. Currently there are no plans to make 20rd sleeves. I’ve seen a couple of people who painted the bottom portion of the 20rd mags for their Elite Compacts. They look pretty awesome protruding from the flared well.

I’ve been looking for the pics but don’t remember where I saw them . The mag well removal does need the roll pin to be taken out.

I had just convinced myself that I didn't need a new XDM Elite Compact because I purchased my 3.8" XDM Elite several months ago because of the large capacity. Now that I know this is an option, I may have to reconsider. This could get costly.

I’ve been running the gen1 Xdm 3.8 for a little over a year now and have settled on it as my EDC. 13 in the gun and 19 in my pocket makes for a happy Okie. The only add-on I have is the pinky extension for the flush mag. Even for my not small hands, that pinky ext gives me a full grip.
