Welcome to the forum from Kentucky, I sold my first Springfield 1911 however just picked up my second Springfield 1911 is a Emissary 45ACP a fantastic gun that makes me a better shooter.
 
I think my first Springfield gun was one of there early 1911 A1’s that came in a blue and white cardboard box like the pic I am including. Slide and frame were forged at IMBEL in Brazil.
