Greetings!
Mrs. BassCliff has been out of town this week visiting her Mom. To combat my boredom I went to the range three days in a row. I actually got a little sloppy, had a little slump, but then started concentrating again on fundamentals and saw some improvement. After this "marathon" session (five range days out of the last seven) I'm going to wait at least a week before going again and do a little dry fire laser practice in my basement.
On Monday I went to Fletcher Arms Lake Country. I was assigned lane #11, my favorite lane!
It was a little busy today. I was not able to get good times on my 10-10-10 drills so I shot mostly for marksmanship practice.
I just sent all my targets out to ten yards and did my best.
It looks kind of lonely out there all by itself.
I was able to get a good time on my cold 10-10-10 drill.
But I see only nine holes. It's certainly possible that one was off the paper. It's been known to happen. I shot ten B-8 targets this day. The last two were weak hand only.
OK, let's get serious. #6 is looking better.
Drat. #7 still has four shots out of the black.
#8 is marginally better with only three out of the black.
#9 weak hand only was really lousy. I guess I should get back in the habit of practicing W.H.O. more.
#10 W.H.O. is marginally better.
Once again I brought out Mrs. BassCliff's CW9 to practice with. After two shots I noticed the front sight fell off, again.
I've ordered a new front sight from Kahr, a TruGlo that uses a real screw fastener for attachment instead of the glue and plastic spreader tabs. Let's hope the new sight stays on and Mrs. BassCliff likes it.
I also brought my P22 for a little plinking fun. At 10 yards it still seems to shoot a little left. I'm going to adjust the rear sight a little more and report back.
Then I said goodbye to all my brass casings. I'm really going to have to get into reloading.
Here's a little video of my fun that day.
I will continue this little thread with my other visits to the range this week. I've been alternating between the two Fletcher Arms ranges for variety. Thanks for looking.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
