Full House: Top Ten 10mm Handguns

Some really nice pistols on that list. I got the 10mm itch a few months back but wanted one on the 1911 platform. I did the usual internet searches including reading a bunch of customer reviews. A 10mm 1911 can get pricey but I finally found one that checked all the boxes for me. Girsan MC1911S10 was my choice. Lots of features and affordable. I know it wasn't on the list but I read just about anything when I see 10mm in the content.

Very Nice look gun 👍

( the rail light attachment seems like a roof rack on a Ferrari if you catch my drift) 😉

I was a bit disappointed that the Ruger gp100 match champion wasn't on the list.
I shot one of those just before I got my S&W 610, passed on the Ruger cause according to the manual and sales clerk, its not recommended to shoot 40 S&W in it, while my 610 you can, I have a good bit of the .40 from when I had my G27, so I can use it in the Smith

While I await my LGS to receive another FN 510 in FDE, I'm also waiting to see if Springfield will (eventually) release a "beefed-up" Echelon in 10mm. In the meantime, my S&W 610-3 (6 1/2" Bbl) is as smooth as silk shooting 10mm and S&W .40. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to shoot full-flavored 10mm missiles as well as being a quality wheel-gun.

Outside of a great 1911 in 10mm, my SIG P220 Legion SAO OR is a fabulous 10mm blaster. This tank of a pistol can also comfortably handle any nuclear 10mm loads you feed it and is certainly worth the price of admission (if you can find one). We call mine the "T-ReX" as it rules my other 10mm shooters.

I've only got 3 of the striker-fired 10's on this list and they each have their "quirks". The G20.5 MOS has the ergonomics of a brick, the P320 X-Ten only runs reliably as a 14+1 blaster (mine, at least), and the 4.6" M&P 2.0 is rather light in the seat for shooting "real" 10mm ammo. Each are very good handguns as a "woods & hoods" 10mm striker-fired pistol.

That's just a cya on Ruger's part. If you shot a lot of 40's and didn't clean the cylinders then loaded up 10mm's, it could potentially cause a problem. No different than shooting 38SP in a 357 mag.

I speak for myself on this one in regards to shooting .40 out of one of my 10mm, as I certainly will not. Yes, any good 10mm pistol should be able to shoot .40S&W through it, and I'm sure that multi-caliber feature is part of the attraction to a 10mm shooter. But just because I could do it, doesn't mean I should or would do it with my 10mm pistols. The only pieces in my collection to even look at .40S&W is my S&W 610 (w/ moon clips) and my steadfast Beretta 96A1.

Although I've got the S&W 610 and SIG P220 has a pair of hammer-fired 10mm's, here are my amazing 1911's in 10mm with Valkyrie Dynamics bushing compensators to counter my three striker-fired 10mm's (Kimber Rapide, Dan Wesson Specialist, and SIG 1911 TACOPS)

And this is my current stable of 10mm terror tools (that needs an FDE Echelon or FDE XD-M Elite)

I wish V Dynamics made a comp in flat dark earth color. All of yours are great looking and may I say a beautiful collection! Lots of power right there.

I only agree with the 610 on the list.

Built my own G40 equivalent with Lone Wolf long slide/barrel & their own frame. Much better than the G40 due to the much better grip.

Unfortunately, SA has decided to not to offer a XDM-E 5.25 in 10mm after dropping the previous & original 5.25 10mm.
