1974 I was a young troop stationed in Heilbronn, Germany. We went to the local Oktoberfest celebration held there. While there was plenty of beer to be had, we were in wine country and drank the locally made stuff.
There just ain't nothing to compare with being staggering drunk in a crowd of a thousand other staggering drunks.

I was in Baden Sollingen at the Canadian base from 1983 to 86. Those Germans sure know how to put on a party. Oktoberfest was awesome anywhere one went!!
