30 super carry models?

I did a bit of research on the new caliber after a gun shop presented a deal for a S&W MP shield pro. I already own a hellcat in 9mm and now own that shield pro in 30 super. Both feel and shoot great. A family member wants a 30 super pistol but isn’t a fan of the current options on the market. So my question is, are there any plans for Springfield to adopt this caliber into any of their lineups?

Honestly IMHO you'll be lucky if more models from any manufacturers come out. Around these parts very few have sold, it's akin to the .40S&W. No gun shop will bring in any new models and IF big IF they take one in on trade you'll be basically giving them the gun to dispose of.

Several cartridges with great performance either never took off (i.e. 9x23 Winchester, etc.), or took awhile (i.e. the 10mm) due to marketing/manufacturing missteps by the industry.

The launch of 30 Super Carry was also just terrible timing. No one was really looking to experiment with a new caliber/platform during Covid - most people were having a hard enough time finding adequate amounts of ammo for the calibers they already owned. That was a profoundly stupid misstep, imo, and I can't believe it wasn't obvious to the manufacturer/s.

Well you can certainly toss in 45gap as well.
IIRC 9x23 was aimed at pistol matches in order to make major. Was that not a Dillon round?
I’ve always thought that .45GAP was Glock’s gamble the ‘94AWB was going to be renewed…that cartridge makes tons of sense if you can only have 10 rounds, but not so much if you can have a G21 with 13.

No, the Dillon round was/is the 9x25.

9x23 Winchester = excellent cartridge

The last SA 1911 I bought was in the late-90s, and was a 9mm Loaded Target and I converted it to a 9x23 Winchester, with a new barrel, recoil spring, and a couple tweaks.

BTW - An analogy...

I want one and kinda wish I would have gotten the Shield plus in it, but I got impatient waiting for it and go the Hellcat Pro instead. I love my Hellcat, but I think I would have also like the .30

I'd love to see Rock island get ahold of it, make some inexpensive 1911s and the ammo. I'd probably get one pretty quickly

I'm afraid the .30SC was DOA. Bad timing when it was introduced and it doesn't do anything better than any other cartridge already out there. Its a non-starter.
It's better than 380 and you get essentially the same ballistics of 9MM and 2 more rounds
On paper it's a great cartridge.
