Victor 9mm carbine

Better to have a barrel vise on those very tough to get loose comps than to loosen up the barrel extension (it happens) as an action rod only helps from the receiver from torquing/bending. Is this a straight blowback or delayed blowback? Make sure it's not pinned and welded even though the barrel is 16" without the comp. Look on the bottom side just forward of the muzzle (not the comp). If it's pinned and welded best taking it to a smith. If not you need to heat it 360* (not temp, but around it). to loosen up the loc-tite.

You may want to try using a heat gun on it to see if that could loosen it enough for you to get it off. I thought there was previous thread on getting a muzzle break off a SA carbine or rifle and applying heat was a suggestion.
It's going to take a flame unless the heat gun is way hot (way more than 1,500 watts). This works very well (pic).

How much of the thread is protruding past the handguard on the 9mm?

I'm getting ready to install a Kaw Valley ASR Muzzle brake and not sure if I will need a barrel extension.
