Hi,

Some of you might've seen this in another thread but I wanted to show a better before and after comparison. This is my Rossi RS22 stock and then with the Mossberg Plinkster 702 (ProMag) folding stock and 25 round magazine installed.

What a difference a day makes. ;) It's almost as scary looking as an AR-22 rifle. :ROFLMAO:

Fun little project that even a bass player can do. :)

Some of us bass players are better at these projects than we are at playing bass. 😉

I have that same rifle and the same ProMag stock. My plinkster is insanely accurate with the factory fiber sights. The folding ProMag stock was a great upgrade. I think I paid about $80.00 for the rifle at Dicks when they were clearing them out and I paid about $60.00 for the stock. Both are worth double what I paid in my opinion. The 25 round AR style mags don't work nearly as good as the 10 round factory mags.

Even *I* can hit stuff at 50 yards with this little rifle. I haven't tried 100 yet. I haven't tried the extended magazine yet either. I guess I got it because it looks cool. But I'll still pick up a few more regular 10 round magazines when I find some on sale. It's weird that you can by 30 round AR magazines for $8 but these little .22LR mags are $25 or more. The best I can find right now is a 3 for $55 deal at shoprossi.com. PSA had them for $21 each. Please let me know if you find anything better.

Hi,

How does that 25 round mag run? I just bought a rs22 pistol. 10 rounds is like...well you know.

I'm sorry I did not report back. It's been a while since I've taken this RS22 to the range. But the last time I did, I do not remember any trouble with the 25 round magazine. I'll get it out again soon, just to double-check.

I've got the same rifle, with a threaded barrel. I paid $105 for it last year - great price for an 18" .22 LR suppressor host rifle. You will easily pay over $300 for a Ruger 10/22 with a threaded barrel now. I use mine mostly for varmint control, so I would miss the cheek weld with the folding stock. I have 4 of the 10-round mags. I was going to get some of the 25-rounders (which are quite hard to find in stock anywhere), but they were like $35 each and looked very cheaply made. I bought a 3-9x40 burris scope (w/.22 BDC reticle) on sale for $40! Love it! Even with a sling, I was all in for under $200! That's like cheap air rifle territory now.

Welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. Glad you joined us. Thanks also for resurrecting this old thread. It reminds me to take this little plinker out and have some more fun with it. ;)

I'll take the original...

I get that folding stock can have transport and space saving advantages .

I can get delibertly having sorta AR -ish configuration , as low cost understudy for the centerfire .

But for the actual shooting , as a .22lr rifle , l perfer the classic configuration , such as the origional .
