Being Serious for a Moment…

While I was entertaining @xdman and @KillerFord1977 at the Primary Arms Range Day yesterday I was hoping to see if I couldn’t weasel and SLX-3 out of the Primary Arms guys I came across a very interesting new pistol red dot that will be announced later today from, of all people, Olight. It is a 3 moa, open emitter red dot with an RMR footprint and an absolutely huge window that is larger than an Acro’s window. It is a tall red dot that makes the Deltapoint Pro look svelte, but the window is like a picture window. The interesting thing is that the sight uses a proprietary, rechargeable battery, like their lights, that comes with this cool boxy cover that recharges the battery. It is a very innovative design. They Olight boys explained in very heavily accented English that Olight recognizes that the cover may be easily lost and will be warrantied by Olight and replaced free of charge if lost. Maybe most surprising is that it will be available for $199 for a red dot and $239 fro green. I have several of the weapon lights and I’ve been happy with them. I’m eager to see what kind of dent they can make in the red dot market - which IMO badly needs some forward thinking, innovators. They will be announcing the red dot at 4:00 CST today.

Sounds good, you got a link or something you could share, I have decided to break down and try a dot again.

You realize you have a problem right Simon ? Most of us pick a couple of our favorites for different tasks/ platforms. You just go all willy Billy and buy one of everything.
You should look for a 12 step program.

On a totally unrelated note, what all do you have in your drawer full of red dots you abandoned ? Like a list if you please? 😉

Some people always buy Ford or Toyota. Not me, I like my life full of variety.

I usually wait for people to give me cars. So I'm not that particular. I mean it's a car. It gets me from here to there. As long as I don't gotta spend a lot of time underneath it I'm happy.

Seriously. I bought my wife's Avalon, but my Ram and my Lexus were both given to me. Although I have still spent quite a bit of time under both of them.

They’re not abandoned, the drawer is more like the Island of Misfit Toys. And because I’ve been rather aggressive in the acquisition game it is not as full as usual. There is currently a Romeo 1 Pro, a Fast Fire 4 and a Holosun SCS sitting in it. I picked up a Vortes Defender CCW recently which will probably find its way in there eventually. It goes to sleep after 14 hrs! 14hrs? What kind of genius came up with that idea? I bet he wasn’t Chinese!
