My point was not that the Dutch used the A4 but the initial statement in the article was incorrect. Production of the F104 was almost 500 fewer than the Skyhawks.
My other point was that the Skyhawks were actually used in combat while I’m not sure the 104 ever fired a shot in anger.

The article was comparing the overall length F-104 production run, not the total numbers, to the on-going production runs of the F-15 & F-16.

The A-4 was in production from 1954–1979, ... 25 years, so the article was correct.
