Biden Calls on Congress to Pass Bump Stock Ban

The nonsensical war on the second amendment will continue for a long time, I’m afraid, and it doesn’t help that most of our “lawmakers” can barely figure out the business end of a firearm. I say that tongue in cheek, but in all reality, the way things are going politicians will continue to chip away at something they refuse to understand and we have no recourse but to fight against it. If we don’t, we’ll lose. Big time.

I understand and support the constitutional issue here over the administrative overreach, but. The guy who invented this thing is his own worst enemy. I just watched a video of him demonstrating the bump stock. I have used and was instructor on many automatic weapons in my career, and from what I saw, if I didn't know better I would have sworn that it is an automatic weapon. Call it what you will, but it mimics a machinegun. It was clearly designed and intended to circumvent the NFA through a technical loophole.. There is a legal way to own NFA weapons. I can't help but wonder where we are headed as automatic weapons and clones proliferate among thugs.
We can argue all day long about one trigger pull for each shot making it a semi-auto, but that is an esoteric and picayune argument to the average citizen who sees it operate. I predict the congress will pick this up and enact legislation that goes beyond bumpstocks.

I miss my MP5.

Unfortunately , this is not about them refusing to understand. Most of them , not all , fully understand what they are trying to ban. It has absolutely nothing to do with safety and everything to do with controlling us peons.

They can not control us until they take away our firearms . They fully understand that.

First off i do not want a bump stock and i see your point, will they get used in mass shootings? most likely. people have gone nuts. now here is the problem i have, the banning of manufacturing and importing automatic weapons have made them so expensive the average person can't afford them. now have they made mine worth more. you bet but i would rather have it like it was. you still had to register them but they were plentiful and affordable. the 86 machine gun ban screwed us on that.

When I was younger I owned a mini 14. I could bump fire it without any aid , just my finger. In later years I bought an AR15 and could never operate the trigger on it like I could the Mini.

I no longer have that or any other AR15 and if I did I wouldn't have any use for a bump stock. As with any firearm or firearm accessory , I feel it should be legal to own.

Guess my point here is if say M-16's were 5 to 6 hundred then people would buy and register them and not need a bump stock. but with them selling for 20 to 30 grand the bump stock is the only affordable means to play. I remember the bump stock being 3 to 4 hundred bucks before the ban

Well said, Bella. The push by those in power to divide and conquer supporters of the 2A have worked very well for them. Folks here are excited about possible changes in November, but I personally am not holding my breath. I still well remember the hype about a “red wave” in the last election and we all know how that fizzled. With the FBI Director and many others testifying to Congress about the threat of an attack on us by foreign terrorists, I am starting to think something is in the planning stages (likely well along) to disrupt the election. The Pandemic worked last time, but the public now would be resistant to that same tactic. I hope I am wrong.

Well if anything changes that’s how it should be done. Make Congress do their jobs, like it or not get the votes and answer to your constituents. Executive orders and “rules” by unelected officials in alphabet agencies is not what our Founders envisioned.
Hopefully we have more votes than the gun grabbers do.

somehow the gov't thinks that restricting law abiding citizens will reduce crime by ACTUAL criminals......or they care nothing about them and only for our safety (sarcasm at your finest)! there are many ways to create close to full auto rates, but only be about 1/2 way there. for some reason they (gov't) doesn't think there's a machine shop out there that will make auto sears for the criminals! as far as the glock switch goes there are other pistols that can be made to operate the same way

AMEN BROTHER!
Im happy the Supreme Court upheld that an Agency of the US Govt cannot write laws
Now to mean it, hold their feet to the fire, and apply it to every other agency and dept.
Call it a rule, or a policy, strongly worded suggestion, when the Gov. tells you, you have to do or can't do IT'S A LAW.

Just curious if you feel the same way about the TAC-14 and Shockwave? Personally, I don't want any of them but what I want even less is someone telling you that you can't have it.
