I saw a number of Lightnings jam up when I was shooting CAS matches. I don't know why, timing or something. There are gunsmiths who can make them run and run fast but that's all I know about them. They interest me but I shied away from the Lightning and stayed with my '73.

Recently I brought a lot of my father's tools home. Checkering and reloading equipment, various vises, a few dremels, several stocks ( which I have no idea what they are inletted for and certainly he doesn't either), drill press, router station, etc. I built a 10' long workbench on the adjacent wall to my tall workbench and installed some cabinets up on the wall, which are now crammed full of various tools rather haphazardly and with little thought to organizational fluidity. I have a couple bins full of stuff on the floor and a few pieces of equipment I would like to install in a semi-permanent location.

I am capable of building just about anything out of wood, but my methods are much more in the function over form style. I dislike working in conditions where shite is just laying around randomly and tools are scattered around. And that goes for any type of work. Gas work in the field, decks or other carpentry, auto mechanics, etc.. I generally hover around "Halfway there" to the way it really should be, mostly because I am usually pressed for time or more likely pressing myself for time as I am not a guy who F's around. If I'm doing something there is no hesitating or "Savoring the moment" (unlike my sweet wife who is an extreme perfectionist, albeit one who takes her sweet damn time) I'm doing a job RIGHT NOW.

My guess is that when I retire all my stuff will become much more organized and less "Frantic". Assuming my body hasn't revolted against me by then.

Yeah but I only needed the one ( Although frankly the Primary Arms scope is no doubt Chinese as well.)

I am considering setting up my newest AR with an LPVO, but I have no intention of spending $1300 on one. Although a dot and magnifier is a consideration.

I wonder how many of your red dots or scopes are Chinese in full or part ? Considering the vast majority of mine are Holosun I think at this point it's hard to escape the Chairman Mao effect. I have a Vortex dot ( which I'm sure is not made in the USA) and would consider one of their scopes ( most likely none of which are made in the USA).

Im sure my Vortex are part Chincom, but I run a lot of Aimpoint, Trijicon and Leupold(japan made, I check)
 
My truck suddenly became lighter, is more responsive, gets better fuel mileage and horsepower has increased in the triple digits. And my DEF gauge now reads 100% all the time. Strange.

About to go to bed. Up at 3:15AM tomorrow and then four days off, and I am not going anywhere. I haven't been home for more than a ten hour stretch for three weeks. The house resembles a hunting camp, with a pile of orange laundry and unopened mail...and the husband will be working every day except Thanksgiving. Unfortunately the cleaning fairy is a snowbird and won't be back until May.....so I got this :cool:
