What are you doing right now??

waiting for the house to warm up, so i can take my shower.

we do not have constant running heat, that's costly, so when it gets like 60 inside, "flip" goes the "on" switch.....then "off" when it reaches 74....

needless to say i wear a hoodie and a knitted hat a lot, the wife has like 6 sweaters on.

i was born in January, but God, i HATE winter........

i HATE summer too...........for all that humidity

come to think of it, i HATE spring, for all that spring cleaning from the winter storms....

and i HATE fall.........for having to get things cleaned up from the summer, and prepping the place for winter.
 
Winter is my least favorite season since it complicates & limits what I can do outside.

Like Spring since everything is fresh & green/early Summer, and I can get out more.

Mid-Late summer is OK but when its a hot summer the grasses start curing-out and I don't like the brown, and fire season kicks in with the smoke & complications if there's local fires. But the heat burns off the ticks that are out in the spring & early summer.

Fall is OK since hunting season starts, the leaves/larch change, but it's a foretelling of the coming 4 months of winter, to complete the circle.

i am totally enjoying 1923.....

last episode, when the marshals were looking for that Indian girl, one of them had a 1911

i like seeing how things became, got started.

Yellowstone was too far into the many years it was on, so i could not get into it

i do not stream, so i am watching season 1 of 1923..

for what i pay for cable, i should get everything

Sorry to hear about your cold weather. Jackets came off about 10 and it was a beautiful day. Ran Momma's 9mm for 20 rounds before the match, 100% and hit all targets. Nice. Then shot the match clean and hit the water bottle flyer. Score! Got to the bar to see the Bears win over the Packers! Last time was 2018. Got home and Broncos are pounding the Chiefs. My birthday month is going gangbusters. :cool:

I can tell you for certain they can't make you dig up your drain field, though they can backcharge you for a permit even though it isn't possible to get a permit here because it's a flood way. If you tear down a structure and bury it on your property they can't make you dig that up either unless they have verifiable evidence a crime was committed.

To get around the "Permanent structure" clause, attach 4x4 runners to the bottom of any outbuilding you build. Now it's "Portable".

thats what they do her on lake front lots and for storage BARNS on inner lots
they all have skids so county cant tax them as structures
they dont care how big they are if you dont live in it
many folks here have portable garages

The MT scenes of Season 1 of 1923 was filmed in Butte, MT because of the period-correct architecture in Butte, as well as some scenes in Bozeman. The Ranch/range scenes were filmed in the open "Three Rivers" country between Butte & Bozeman and to the south.

Of course the Spencer & Alex scenes were filmed over-seas until they made it to MT.

We visited my wife's friend while she was living in Butte back in 2019. She took us to the Rim. It was pretty cool.
 
The 1923 production company was using the Butte Civic Center to stage out of, and to build/film interior scenes.

They lost the lease to that due to the uncertainty of the writers/actors strike. They decided to move Season 2 production to TX & simulate MT scenes with CGI, but returned a few times to Butte for more city downtown scenes this past summer for Season 2.
 
It's interesting the show is using the Crow Tribe for their Indian subplot since the Crow Rez is much further east in SE MT vs. in the Bozeman/Butte and south area.

That area was generally a transition area between several tribes like the Shoshone to the south in Idaho, Salish to the west & Blackfeet to the north, although the Crow did venture west. But the Crow & Blackfeet were enemies & the Blackfeet were more powerful.

The "Bitterroot-Salish" were pushed out of that Butte/Bozeman south to Idaho area by the Blackfeet to find security in the Bitterroot Valley.

However, tribes from northern Idaho, namely the Nez Perce came east into the western Plains to hunt buffalo and trade, before the infamous 1877 "Trail of Tears".
