Tonight, I sent my best friend a text thanking him for being a real friend for the last 25 years. No reason for it other than I wanted to do it.
I challenge everyone to do the same with your closest friend.

Would need a direct messenger link to heaven but He knew, I made sure he knew he would be missed every day and his last words to me an hour before he passed after I left were take care of my boys.

Only have one left and he has prostate cancer. We text , talk almost daily and have lunch together every Wednesday. We've been close friends almost 40 years.

The ones I would consider my best friend or friends have passed on. I do have friends, but none of them are in the best friend category. My wife is my wife. So I consider that different. So I guess for now, my two best friends are sleeping in their kennels, right behind me now. My pups don't do the texting thing, so I'll give them extra scratches behind the ears on my way out the door to work.

My best friend was murdered by hood rats in E. STL in 2003. Then my next closest friend was murdered by a hood rat in N. STL in 2017. I won't subject anyone else to that. Besides, my wife is my best friend and I told her last night.

I am down to my last friend from school, and we stay in touch regularly.
I had a close friend from school that got me into shooting regularly and he passed suddenly, and I haven't been to the range since, just doesn't feel right.
Sure, I have met others through my bowling and golf, but it's not the same type of friendship.
I know that I am in the winter of my life, so keep your friends and family close, because tomorrow is promised to no one.

I'm at this weird stage in my life where all my good friends have either moved on, moved away or died.
I do still have a few casual friends and acquaintances, but the good ones are gone.

Damn, I am lucky to have that one friend left. There was 6 of us that were like brothers but now it's only the 2 of us.

Well.

I’m about to have lunch with my “oldest” (maybe “longest” is better?) friend; over 50 years.

We’ve gone through have a running joke between us, based on “Blade Runner”…used for decades.

I don’t have biological brothers, so I get to choose mine.

He’s one.
