Going across those beaches took serious, balls, my dad said his generation was half the man his father's were in Wwi, my grandfather was a tanglefoot layer one of the deadliest jobs, and I am not sure mine was even half what my father's were, those were some men.

Years ago when I was stationed in Germany I thought to myself as I looked down upon the beaches how did they survive. It was a humbling experience

Yeah i was there years ago and I sat and looked and thought about those guys and thier bravery. It was almost overwhelmingly humbling.

Yeah I can understand that, not much of a crying type but damn wind was making my eyes water...

My Dad was there. Went ashore on Omaha with the 29th Infantry. He never talked about it much, but you could tell it still haunted him.
