testtest

For the nerds ONLY...

For those of you looking to break the corporate chains of tyranny from Microsoft and crApple (I don't blame you) but you were too scared to try Linux, or perhaps you did and it didn't suit you... Then I have good news for you!I've been testing out Zorin OS on one of my lab computers, and it just simply rocks. It's geared for transitioning Windows users. And it's gorgeous. Zorin is FREE! There's a paid version to support the movement but by no means is it required. It just gives you extra themes and software.

You can even try it out on your own home computer without installing it. Just flash the disk image to a USB drive, boot into it, and give it a test drive. It's a breeze.

If this has your interest piqued, you can download Zorin (based on Ubuntu/Debian Linux) from here: https://zorin.com/os/

There are a MULTITUDE of Youtube videos and forums about this OS to help you get started and answer your questions.

Since PCs became a thing i've tried a few OSs and Linux was an ok one but at least with Linux back in the day programs couldn't work in it..... and most micro$oft OSs get hacks & tricks to get rid of the most annoying features and if you know some-things windows can be free....

So this Zorin is it setup to work with any programs? Because computer programs aren't Zorin compatible.

Yes, Zorin has Windows app installation support. And the free software repository has come lightyears in recent years. Really, really good software out there for Linux now. Zorin uses Flatpaks for software installs, so anything you can find in flathub.org will work in Zorin.

Zorin also comes with Libre Office (FOSS alternative to MS Office) which has come leaps and bounds over the years.

Yeah right nice try. Group administrators need to add a block option.
Orrrrrr you could do .04 seconds of research and go on youtube and look up "Zorin OS" and see for yourself. Literally tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of people use Zorin EDIT: My bad. Looks like we're now over 1 million Zorin users, myself included. According to DistroWatch, the download link gets about 800 hits a day. Look it up. Google it. Wikipedia it. Ask your local IT guy about it. Maybe you're new to computers, but Linux has been around for decades, my guy.

It's an operating system. If you own an Android phone, you're already using Linux. If you use Amazon FireTV or tablets, you're already using Linux. If you've been to an ATM lately, you used Linux. Visit a website? It's hosted on a Linux server. You're being fed this forum, and reading this comment right now, courtesy of a Linux server. You've probably interacted with some shape or form of Linux about 50 times today and you don't even realize it.

Seriously, dude, calm down.

And by the way, there already is a block option. Just click on my profile and click "Ignore".

For the rest of you, I'm trying to help, that's all. I'm just as strong an advocate of computer privacy and freedom as I am about Firearm rights. Apple and Microsoft and Google are spying on you, collecting your data, reading your messages, selling your information, keeping tabs on you, and in some cases even reporting you.

So when I have an opportunity to help my fellow patriots defend themselves, I take it. This is one of those posts, and you can expect more in the future.

If you're okay with big tech spying on you and literally owning you, and you are opposed to FOSS/RTR, then feel free to hit that ignore button, and good luck to you.

Thread does call out it’s for the nerds. If outside comfort zone no need to go HAM and throw block hammer 😂

I unfortunately don’t have the time to learn new stuff and my phone, my tablet and computer all work together so swell.

I do have a couple of boxes I keep around should I get the itch to build a rig but attentions limited (adhd/autism) and high speed hole punches, trading (poorly), booger sculpture and yard work take up me time.
