Red dot

Hi,

Checking the Springfield website, they offer the Hellcat Pro with a couple of different optics as a budled package. I see the Veridian or the Shield.

Or you can get it with the optics cut and install just about any red dot (or green dot) using the proper adapter plate. Note: There is a difference between the OSP handguns and the VIS handguns, different optic mounting interfaces.

When I bought my Echelon, the "gear up" package included the Hex Wasp optic. I have not installed it yet. Don't know what I'm waiting for. I guess I want to make sure I really hate the stock sights.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hi everyone,
I’m the proud new owner of a Springfield Echelon! I just purchased a Holosun HS507C-X2 red dot and plan to mount it on the slide.
  1. Torque specs:

What’s the maximum torque (in in-lb) I can safely apply to the mounting screws without damaging the slide?

  2. Threadlocker recommendation:

Would you advise using Loctite 242 (blue) or Loctite 222 (pink) for the screws?
Thanks in advance for your expertise!
Best regards

Look this up on HS’s website. Should also be in the manual. Typically 15-18 in-lbs.

I prefer vibratite over loctite. Just follow the instructions and let it cure first before putting the screws in, then let it set afterwards.

I finish by using a paint pen to seep around the tops of the screws. The dry paint helps hold them in/not rotate, too.

If you must use LocTite ( I don't ) use blue or purple. I think the screws that come with the Holosun already have dried threadlocker on them. I wouldn't put any more on if that's the case.

And I think the torque spec is 12 in-lb, but you could do 15. Then do use a pen to mark across the screws as a visual aid to see if the screws ever move.
