fighting Tomahawk

Bought this cold steel the other day, but not for no fighting purposes.

Not a big fan of hawks. Most have too rounded a handle for hard use as a tool, they can twist in the hand, this is part of the reason hawks are good for throwing they just slide from the hand. The rear spike is great for fighting but it limits its use as a tool. I prefer something with more use to take up those ounces/pounds in my kit.

Give me a good belt ax with a decent poll for pounding. Makes just about as good a weapon and has a ton of utility to include it in your belt kit.

I've seen some finds from more than a few archeological digs that testify to the lethality of the hatchet, and battle axe, American Indians also used them to great affect.........

And if memory serves, Navy SEALs used them also to great effect in the GWOT

If an evildoer is in my house and has an axe, he is no match for the 12 gauge hell he is about to be confronted with.
Momma, better get the squeegee.
