Given the changes coming to the tax stamp portion and the stance of the DOJ and current administration... and given that the current check is basically a NICS check anyway (with the singular added step of fingerprint verification), I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen since it's already the approved method for selling the deadly thing - the firearm.

As i understand it, nothing will change other than the 200 dollars stamp will go away. and even that hasn't happened yet. there are still dems out there trying to stop it. You will still have to go through the process.
