Had to do it only once with my lil 78 Honda Prelude. It was my favorite little stick![]()
Anni will be along shortly I’m sure with a response![]()
At 17 I owned a 1960 Mercury CometOh, yeah. 17 yrs old, 63 Ford Falcon. Battery always near dead.Paid 50 bucks for it, but got me around for a year.
Saw this over on the USCCA forum and thought I’d borrow and share it. In my (much) younger days I can honestly say I’ve done this more than once. My first standard, bought in 1977 or so, was a ‘71 Vega hatchback if that tells you anything![]()

That experience is a classic example of how people used to learn how to DEAL WITH THINGS instead of being needy!I had a 78 diesel VW rabbit. Great car, BUT if it was less than 20F outside and the engine was cold you’d run the battery down using glow plugs and cranking over and over. At the same time, if you pushed it enough to just get it rolling, hop in and pop the clutch and it was running just fine. Parked on a slight grade at work, End of shift a little push and I was gone![]()
