Tisas 1911A1… It’s 1926 All Over Again

If you want something more correct to the issue US military 1911A1 the Tisas/SDS 1911A1 "Armed Service Family" model is what you seek.

You do have to admire the genius of JMB. How many other 100+ year old consumer products in a basically original form are still being produced and used, effectively, today? Let’s see, there’s a ma deuce (JMB), a few lever guns (several JMB), and a Colt SAA. That’s about it that come to mind

i have had a "few" A1 1911's, and even the Tisas, just not that particular one.

good near replicas

but i got rid of all of them.

i prefer the 2 tone, or satin or S.S. finishes, over bland looks, which do seem to scratch easier, and no, i am not talking about the "idiot scratch".

and YES, Tisas, and Girsan BOTH, Turkish gun companies.........make fine guns.

This 1924 Colt is known as the Transition Model. Colt produced 10,000 and assigned these pistols with serial numbers 700001-710000. This one is 292 in the series. There are two entries for 700292 in the SRS database. One from 1924 showing it as a NM pistol. The other from 1933 showing it being sent to Springfield Armory.

Tisas must have something going for them as they have a 1911A1 copy that's being sold by CMP.

Makes me wonder why Colt/CZ couldn't turn out an exact copy of the orginial or have Tisas produce it their specs.

The CMP 1911A1 is the same as the Tisas/SDS 1911A1 ASF (aka Armed Services Family) (which is a Remington-Rand replica) with the exception that "CMP" is stamped on the frame.
