Ayoob: 1911 — Outdated Hype and Nostalgia?

Great song and brings back some memories of 30 years ago at Quantico for some training... As for Ayoob and although, don't agree with all your points or maybe I do, damn getting old, don't remember. Can't argue with this one, as it's reference to always learning.

His and others watching the changes in firearms/tactics and back again. If someone told me, I would be touting the virtues of a single action 1911 after all the others, I would have said, "Naw". Been through six shooters to metal 9mm and .45 in DA/SA, to half plastic .45s with larger capacity. Then there were the Shotguns, to Camp Rifles to Mini 14s to Colt M4s with optics, yeah good point...

Yeah I’m not saying you can’t disagree some with anyone but from going to a lot of classes and hosting national trainers AND becoming friends with some I get nuggets from all of them, I have had discussions privately with them where I just discussed my experience turned out different. Doesn’t make either of us wrong we just had a different result

My quirk is a lot of folks just don’t politely disagree they blab and most haven’t faced the elephant or been around men that have or witnessed the aftermath so and call a nationally known dude wrong or stupid or whatever yet most of the ones don’t have a successful 6 decade longer trainjng career let along published articles and recognize as an expert witness.

And I have been doing the professional gun carrying thing since 1986 and in 39 years I have learned how we use to donut was wrong and adjusted.

No different than we use to not wear seat belts or harnesses in tree stands but after we saw enough folks get jacked up we Know better now and wear them!

Learned in life the bigger picture can get obscured by the trees directly in front of you. Yea that one was corny and on a day the ability to debate that big picture has been seriously put into jeopardy with great prejudice.
