Just fed Maggie her dinner, now she wants treats. Was a good day here except after 3 weeks my new neighbor has not picked up after his dogs in the backyard. It's starting to stink and attract flies. I have asked him twice to clean it up but still he has not done it. I don't want to be a jerk but i'm ready to call the city so they can take care of the issue. He has started off on the wrong foot.
Brakes on the son in law's Silverado, oil change on the wife's Avalon, removing and replacing garage door track and adjusting opener. Just finished dinner while watching an episode of Alien Earth and fixing to have a cold Guinness to wind down the weekend.
Not right now, but this morning, I was the church elder tasked to conduct the Sunday service. If any are interested to see the old man, it was taped at Trinity Lutheran in Cedar City, UT. Warning it contains a eulogy to Charlie Kirk, libs might find it upsetting…Semper Fi.
Well…this weekend I canned 12 quarts of tomatoes, pulled all the tomato plants out of the garden, helped the husband kill gophers, did laundry, cleaned guns, and I am sure there’s a bunch of other stuff that I did in between - so, I’m just sitting here finishing my beer and catching up here. The family phone call went well so sleep won’t be an issue tonight. I think I may even read a little.
Did you use traps to kill your gophers? Thats what I had to do. There is nothing that will kill them except using traps. Smoke doesn't work, flooding the hole doesn't work, even using carbon monoxide from running a hose from a lawnmower doesn't work. How do I know this, my neighbor on the other side of me was infested with them. Tried everything including a pest person. They told me only tried and true method was to set a trap in their hole and check everyday. It's not a pretty sight to see them harpooned in the trap but you would be surprised how many you really have. In my small yard 40 of them passed away in about 3 weeks. Haven't seem another one around in years.
