This past weekend there were 2 shootings, heard on the news both were former military personnel, what is going on with this, is it PTSD or what, this should not be happening with our vets, or anyone in fact, you can’t blame the right or left, it’s both sides, even though most love to point there fingers, there is just to much rhetoric from both sides of the isle, hard to understand the way our country has gone……
 
During the obama and obiden (d) years the woke military indoctrinated the ranks with a leftist agenda. Colleges, universities and public schools, promoting the same conflicting ideals.

The endless wars and covid mandates increased their stress. Unfortunately we're probably going to see more (vet) violence with the current political/social division in this country.

and here in my state, the anti 2A politicians say we cannot have guns or rifles, but cops and military people can..???

for instance, right now, no more than 10 round magazines for us, but cops and military can have as many rounds as THEY want..??

and soon "assault rifles" will be banned, i think in 2016.....

seems to me we NEED to worry about our military people more than our ordinary level headed gun owners, having such weapons.
 
The shooter in North Caroline SELF-IDENTIFIES as a Combat Veteran. We don't know yet if he actually served, or if that is just part of his batcrap crazy story.

The police chief said that Edge said he has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Coring said that he "self-identifies" as a veteran. Fox News Digital has reached out to the Department of Defense for comment.

"We understand this suspect identifies as a combat veteran. He self-identifies. Injured in the line of duty is what he’s saying, he suffers from PTSD," Coring said.

In a 2024 federal lawsuit dismissed earlier this year, Edge made sweeping claims that included references to what he called "a Hate Crime (LGBQT toward a straight man (me)) who was raised as a straight male for (LGBTQ) purposes in an illegal pedophile sex ring."

He also accused his parents of being "LGBQT White Supremacist Pedophiles" who falsified his birth certificate, drugged him and tried to profit from him, while tying his alleged mistreatment to the Iraq War, the Abu Ghraib scandal and the Jeffrey Epstein case.

On March 12, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina dismissed the case. Judge Louise W. Flanagan ruled that Edge failed to state any viable constitutional or tort claims, noting that his filings were filled with extraordinary accusations but lacked legal grounding. The case was formally closed with all counts dismissed.

I'd be willing to wager (a little!) there's more at play than only PTSD. As examples, the sufferers I've known, bless their hearts, were anything BUT homicidal. Hopefully we'll discover more later.

Disclaimer, I'm not a veteran and I have not and will not ever use the VA.
Those of my friends that were in Afghanistan/Iraq some multiple times, their stories about the VA is horrendous. They say it's like a circus, the VA just keeps you going to different tents with minimal help on a lot of things. I feel for those trying hard to get help.
A couple only got the help they needed when they used their own private insurance through their work or wifes work insurance.
This isn't right and I hope it is better for most others.

The numbers of troops on psycho-tropic drugs before we went into Iraq would shock you just as I was shocked during an AMEDD AAR in the fall of 2003. Another shock was that they didn't discuss root causes of this scandal, but rather how to get more pills into theater. I imagine after the Gulf War and drawdown and the Clinton years recruiting was scraping the bottom of the barrel. Nevertheless we certainly didn't put our best foot forward in March of 2003.

The VA are pill pushers, I get to visit tomorrow. Nothing will get done, then I get to look forward to my eye appointment
which was set in July for the first available. Dec 18th.

I was raised to be a Soldier, I did my years, paid the price. They are taking care of me, so I have no complaints.
More pills drill sergeant!
