Glock Upheaval: Rumors Fly on Discontinued Models, New info on V Series Guns

Hi,

The "black sheep", that's funny. ;) I, too, have only one Glock in my little stash. In a dull way, it's one of their most garish and unique. C'mon! A 6.02 inch barrel! That's kinda ridiculous. I think that's why I'm infatuated with my G17L. Glockers don't bother me. I can see the appeal. They just don't appeal all that much to me. I am a fanboy of the SA products, with eight in my cabinet. But I also like to play the field a little. Variety adds a little spice. But I digress.

It's going to be interesting. But I have a feeling that "Meet the new Glock, same as the old Glock" will be the outcome for the end user. Hopefully it's enough to stave off lawsuits and legislation.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

As long as you like what you like. I’m more of a M&P fan but do like some SA & CZ. My G23 was one that I found and couldn’t resist because I thought it was going away. Now I see it’s not but happy I got it because I don’t see to many .40 out in my area.

It is basically the king slide 17L version but in 10mm for hunters wanting an extra inch. Which I believe Lone Wolf mad a 6” drop in barrel in 10mm for the Glocl 20
Perhaps in general appearance, but the G40 has notable dimensional differences than the 17L to account for the larger cartridge.

I used a Lone Wolf 6" 10mm barrel to build my Lone Wolf long-slide 10mm before Glock came up with the G40 idea.

No it was bigger, but still a 9mm.

Usually the 10MM goes with a .45 frame design across the manufacturers. I’m happy that they strengthened up the G23 Gen5 from the 9MM platform and decided to keep it. Too bad they don’t do the long slides anymore but even SA got rid of them.

I was speaking solely of overall length.

Girth…:well that’s a more personal Issue and we don’t want to trigger any bore envy now so we???

Glock is being sued by the People's Democratic Republic of California, with likely copycat lawsuits to follow from New York, Illinois, and other states.

Frankly, it's not their fault that "hackers" have figured out how to turn their semi-auto firearms into machine pistols with a 3D printer and five cents of plastic. However, I'm not that upset that they are making a change that will put drug dealers and gang bangers back on their heels for a bit.

Unfortunately it doesn't do a damn thing about the hundreds of thousands of pistols that are already in circulation, but of course if any of the state lawsuits are successful, we all know what comes next...the confiscation of those same weapons.

Haters gonna hate but here are a couple short videos by 2 attorneys that deal with firearms. While I generally avoid YouTube these are 2 of the better channels to get factual informational from

Yeah I don't hate Glocks by any means. Owned a Gen 2 G23 for a long time. It was a great pistol - reliable until and probably through Armageddon, easy breezy to shoot, great accuracy out to 25 yards from a 4 inch barrel. It just wasn't very EDC friendly and it was a .40, which was ok, but I thought I'd move up to a .45 that was more carry friendly (XDS), hated that gun, traded that up for a SA TRP Operator 10mm which is still my carry, car gun, pretty much everything gun. Can dump 8 rounds of 10mm in the 10 ring at 10 yards in a couple seconds, but with the 10mm, really, one is all you need.

Anyway, the problem isn't Glock, it's asshat gangbangers and criminals who want to convert precision instruments into terror weapons to shoot up their neighborhoods, women and children included, for a rock or some omerta ********. A weapon of indiscriminate terror frankly is all a Glock with a switch is - the switch serves zero purpose than to spray-and-pray. And that's all the excuse gun grabbers need, and they will not rest until everyone on this thread is a criminal because we own a firearm, whether it can be converted or not.

So, I'm OK with Glock redesigning their firearms to make it much harder to make them do something they were not designed to do and for which that specific conversion serves no legitimate purpose. A Glock is still going to be a Glock - they have a brand and they will maintain it, while making changes that enable them and others to stay in business.

I know Chicago is on the list but us fed up Illinois PRO2A players are fed up with Chicago and the tilted left. This stuff is getting old since Mexico tried suing S&W over guns going into Mexico.

"That's because they are not effective against two-leggeds, only bears." Told to me by a guy at a local LGS, so it must be true.

Personally I think there will be the phase where it comes back again and 10MM will start to fade away or 9MM will loose its hype to a certain level. I know we are in a grey area at the moment but hopefully 🤞 things will work itself out.

It's been like that for decades. My family were Chicago natives, and I grew up in the burbs...all have left. It's a beautiful city, but it's been ruined.
