Range day with the XDm

Well I went out to shoot the XDM this morning. I’m honestly thinking it’ll take me a little bit to get used to it. I totally forgot my adjuster for screws and was shooting low. I did have the range to myself and found out that I needed to learn to calm down.

Otherwise I need to calm down and relax to shoot. I’m going to look into accessories like a mag well. I’m not sure if there’s a different recoil spring but I wouldn’t mind hearing about it

You’re 10 mm right? I have not taken mine out yet, prob next week.
In regards to recoil. Not sure what ammo you’re using but you can start out with some of the weaker 10 loads and work up.
If you’re old and arthritic like myself. Well, I just have to pop a Tylenol and suck it up. lol

I’ll have to adjust to pretty much everything on it including dialing in the rear sight. It’ll come to me soon enough and changing in between manufacturers doesn’t help.

Yes. I’m used ammo Inc to start out with then the freedom ammunition (50 rounds each). Personally I noticed that I was shaky (little more than usual).

I’ll be making adjustments the next few range trips.

Hi,

I have not been shooting all that long so any new-to-me pistol, or one I haven't shot for a while, takes some time for me to get settled with it, or re-familiarized with it. The sights, sight picture, trigger press, recoil, grip, etc, are a bit different between the units in my little collection. You'll get it sorted once you get acquainted. I always get back to fundamentals. Congrats on the first trip with your new shooter.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
