This is coming a little late. My brother-in-law picked up a few of the Glocks being retired, along with a slew of other people. He went on the Glock Store to buy a Glock 19 Gen 5 threaded barrel, along with some other items. He, and several other people, were having issues with going through the checkout process and being told that the items they ordered were not in stock AFTER they had pressed the Pay button. Apparently, everybody was having issues with the website, they were having issues with customer service, etc. Numerous complaints on Google and other forums over the crap show on their website. I logged onto my account, and the first message across their site was that there was a 72 hour delay due to the high volume. I went through the process and found I could order the barrel with no problems. He called me and I told him that I have used them for a few years now, and never had an issue with them, and they were a legite company. He expressed some trepidation with purchasing on their site, I told him that odds are, their website can't handle the volume it is being asked to process, and that he may need to talk to them about it. I recommened a few other companies and aftermarket companies that specialized in Glock Threaded Barrels, but he wanted to stay OEM. After a few tries, he got a hold of a customer service rep and told them about the issues. He even sent them a screen shot of the issue. The rep said that they weren't aware of it, and thanked him for letting them know about it and that they would take care of it. The next call was the manager, who thanked him for letting them know about the problem, that it was an issue with the IT department, and that they were told to fix it immediately. He also personally picked the order and processed it for him.
After this, he called me and let me know what happened, and said he felt better after talking to me, so he went ahead and purchased the items he wanted. I told him that you can't always go by what people are saying online, or their reviews. Again, I have never had a problem with them, they are a stand up company that I will use again if needed. However, he just texted me this morning saying "Dammit!" and a link to the Palmetto State Armory website that was selling the same Glock 19 Gen 5 Threaded Barrel for $129 vs. the $299 he paid at the Glock Store. My response was "Well, I told you to check other websites".
Moral of the story: Just because you may be having issues with a company, and everybody is of the "instant gratification" mindset that if they can't get it now and with no issues, doesn't mean that you can't get it. It just may take a little time to do so. Let the company know the problem and give them a chance to resolve it. And, always shop around to other companies, don't always be an OEM snob.
