I'M "BORED" WITH FIREARMS

Want not to be bored?

Guns not complete when you buyem, always a challenge.
at my age, i am all "challenged out"

i have done and completed all of my life's challenges, work challenges, and assorted other challenges

its like that "paint by numbers" hobby kit one can buy..

but for me, if i buy such a paint by the numbers hobby kit..??

i want the painting to already be done.

Oh, yeah, of course a Flame Thrower. I figured you already have one. I could not one up my friends with a fancy BBQ gun until I got a proper BBQ gun.

And???????

I remember watching an old YouTube video that stated that when a human being gets a new "toy" there's Dopamine rush and over time we get addicted to that Dopamine rush.

And what we call boredom is really the fact that we don't get that Dopamine rush from picking up what used to be our favorite gun and we want to go buy something else to get that Dopamine rush again.

So we go drop a thousand bucks with our drug dealer (the LGS) and get our Dopamine fix.

The only way to get over that is to go Cold Turkey.

Hi,

Thanks for the discussion.

I think I'll be growing my "one of each" collection much slower from now on. Because I want to limit the numbers of calibers, considering my age, scheduling the time, finances, etc, perhaps just one or two more firearms in the next six months or so, depending on how fast I can save my gig money. ;) I don't need a huge collection and I have plenty of different platforms to alleviate boredom. I am easily entertained with the mere eight different calibers I am now using.

Mrs. BassCliff has a couple of her Dad's compound bows. Maybe I'll get those fixed up if I really want something different.

Not pictured, S&W 686 Plus and Sig 1911-X. These should keep me busy, and broke. I'll be concentrating on optics, upgrades, and accessories.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
