EDC Carry Positions - The Pros and Cons

No, not at all.. Just friendly banter is all.. Thank you.. I myself am also trying to get a bigger gun safe, just got to be able to talk the wife into it and more guns. šŸ˜‚
I was just thinking about a new safe last night but my wife will not allow me any more space my man cave is maxed out and can't accommodate a larger safe.
I am probably going to remodel the closet incorporate a small safe in there and a way to organize all my 15 uppers.

When I was in the army they told me this is how you carry a handgun period. I don't think I ever saw anybody in the army with a left-handed holster.

Same thing in when I worked as a security guard except I did know two guys that carried on their left side.

I said all that to say that I'm used to carrying at 3:00 so that's where I carry

Yep
Pretty much gave up IWB and carry in a pocket of some sort. Cargo pants, shorts or sweatshirt front pocket
Pocket carry is, for me at least, the one method that actually works ALL the time. I live in jeans and a 938bSig or J frame Smith in strong side front pocket and a decent holster ā€œdisappearā€ until need. It is, for me, the easiest way to always have a pistol readily available, regardless of season. As a plus, a guy can have his hand at/in a pocket without any ā€œthreateningā€ appearance, yet can bring a weapon into use very quickly. I’ve got several pistols and boxes of holsters from my search for ā€œTHEā€ best way to carry, but pocket just seems to always work.

No offense but your up a creek when you're in your car with your seat belt on. Car jacking is on the increase every whare.. odds are you won't be a victim but pulling out of your garage and someone wants what's in your house or car. Nevada had a couple of those but like I said odds are that won't happen.

Most of the year I wear shorts. I carry a J-Frame in a sticky holster that fits well inside my Duluth cargo shorts pocket. In my truck I have an Alein Gear seat holster set up. It is set up on the front of my seat, between my legs. I can detach it, and it becomes a paddle holster, if I so desire. I just usually leave it in place. Once I get in my truck, I remove my pistol from my pocket, sticky holster and all. Then pull the pistol from the sticky holster and put it in the attached paddle holster between my legs. Reverse procedure when I get to my destination. All done discreetly from inside the cab of my truck.

You’re correct on ā€œin carā€. Fortunately the pocket holster is easy to remove from the pocket and it, with pistol inside, fits snugly between the seat and console. Nothing/no position is perfect for every situation. A person needs to figure out what works Most of the time, then determine how to deal with those ā€œotherā€ conditions, I used to carry a Bond .410 with OO in a ā€œdriving holsterā€ but found the above works equally well.

When I had a suit and tie job I sat in an office all day. And would have been fired if I had a firearm. So it was a Colt Cobra in an ankle rig for me. They are quite fast to draw from if seated, as you can bring your leg up to meet your hand. But outside of sitting ankle rigs are dead last for me. Too slow, and when standing my sidearm is literally as far from my hands as it can be. Pro Tip: If you do wear an ankle rig, put it on normally, then put on another sock to cover the bottom of the holster. Yes, it is hard on socks. But it offers a little more concealment...since it meant my job if I was ever "made" as carrying a sidearm, so it was worth a few extra pairs of Falke socks!
