Staccato “C” 2024 Range Report (and NEW TOWEL DAY) - 18 Nov 25

So a while back I was deciding between updating my EDC X9 or buying a new gun. At the time, I went with sending the EDC X9 to Wilson for a tune up/optics kit. Waiting got the best of me and ended up also grabbing a Staccato “C” 2024 from Modern Warriors. Took it to the range a couple of times since, but today I took it to sight in the optic for Federal 124g, my choice for practice (American Eagle FMJ) and carry (HST). Oh, first time my new towel went to the range 😂.

My plan was to shoot up the rounds I’ve had loaded for EDC/HD (15 rounds of HST), then 200 rounds of AE FMJ. Put my target out to 7 yards (where I sight in all my optics), then put the 15 rounds of HST into the top bullseye target and 15 rounds of FMJ into the bottom target. Bottom group tightened up after I determined I wasn’t paying close enough attention on first 15.

All firing was done 2h standing, unsupported, center of lane.

Made an optic adjustment to the right and put 15 more into each target.

Decided to adjust optic just a smidge more to the right. Next up was my favorite drill - TACTICAL DUDE! Though he was in black and white, not color 😞. For those unfamiliar, drill goes like this:

3 yards - 5 rounds each shoulder, slow fire
5 yards - 10 rounds center, fast as targeted
7 yards - 10 rounds center, fast as targeted
15 yards - 5 rounds center, slow fire
Back to 3 yards - 5 strings of 2 rounds to center, 1 to head, fast as targeted.

The two in the neck were misses at 15 yards.

Next, since I just wanted to put some more rounds through the gun, I did this drill at 3 yards. With the exception of the small squares (all slow fire), the rest were all as fast as acquired. 1 round in each circle, left to right, top to bottom, then 2 rounds in each, followed by 3 rounds in each, same order. Got some work to do here. Also a pain to stick target on as exhaust blower blows full speed right on bench where you can lay target down to place other on it.

Had 39 rounds left, so just put this one at 7 yards and tried to shoot out center. Slow fire mostly, but once in a while just felt I had dot on target so probably jerked trigger 😂.

I really do like this gun, though it’s a tad heavy and the grip material sucks for carrying unless wearing a t-shirt under a cover garment, even with an OWB holster (they still don’t cover the grip).

Good shooting and you have your towel. You are clearly a man to be reckoned with.

I think the towel they give with guns is for drying ya tears after you spent alot of money on a nice gun, ammo, targets, range fees and ya couldn't hit a bull in the a&$ even if he standing next to ya. JMHO. lol

Excellent! I had my Staccato C at the range this evening as well. Friend/Firearms Instructor was in town, so I had him shooting thru a lot of my collection. A few rounds I put thru the C at 21ft. (no idea on the one I dropped low)
