making an hk45 lower

Hello, so i have done some research into making an entirely new pistol based off the HK45 and discovered that is going to be unrealistic and outside my skillset, so i would like to try to figure out if i can make the hk45 lower.

the issue is, the lower is made out of polymer and metal, and i don't know how they made it or how to reverse engineer it, does anyone have any ideas?

thank you

Ask on HKPro.com. Fair warning, they will probably not be too receptive as you don’t appear to have the know-how to do this, but you never know.

It would help if we knew exactly what you were trying tj do. Saying you want to build something off an HK45 lower is vague.

If another caliber the magazines will give issue as smaller diameter uiu will have to do something with the deem lips, followers etc ejected etc etc etc

And I say that as someone that carried a HK 45 for duty and run a HK P30L now both LEM trigger

Good luck and as far as the HK forum those dudes are full of themselves so enter at own rush and be prepared for dip$hittery and lug nuts

You HAVE to start with a frame that has never been a rifle. If you have an assembled rifle, it is always a rifle in the eyes of the ATF. You turn it into a handgun and that is illegal. A friend of mine takes pictures of every AR-15 he builds as a pistol FIRST. It is not illegal to turn a pistol into a rifle. But he has a record everything starts as a pistol in case there is a question later down the road. Seems like cheap insurance to me.

I read where they were critical of other HK folks because they preferred a hammer fired LEM Trigger. They are full of themselves alright. 10 times worse than Glocktalk in the late 2000’s and there’s some lug nuts there too!
Try discussing MP5 clones with them.
