For years, well, decades actually I always worked the Holiday Shift because my folks live in the same town and by me working it meant other supervisors and managers could see their families. So since I retired we host Thanksgiving at our house. Takes the pressure off my mom and I finally have some family around. Too many Thanksgivings in the past dog sitting my parents Britney Spaniel and splitting a turkey hoagie from the gas station with the dog. Now it is all family, and I was a fool for missing out all those years. Oh well. Work can distort your focus about what is really important. If you guys are alone for the holidays, fix that. You know someone else that is alone, eat with them! If you truly don't know anyone, attend an AA Meeting with a pie and you will be surrounded by friends. There is a lot to be grateful for if you just look.
