Carrying while fat (how do you do this comfortably?!)

I intend to lose weight, but how do y’all carry with a muffin top? I’m quite uncomfortable carrying, even with a quality holster, as the leather and grip rub against my skin and press in deep. Maybe over the winter I can lose some weight and for the meantime carry a revolver in a shoulder holster?
I can tell you after carrying at a heavy weight for years, mostly IWB appendix, although not comfortable it was always doable. Now after loosing 40# over a couple of years carrying is so much easier. The downside is modifying my Wilderness belts to a smaller size. That said, any bit of weight loss made carrying much easier.

Just some guidelines on choosing correctly, based on 40+ years of dealing with this.

Last, if you do lose weight, watch out for loose skin near the holster mouth (ouch).

Cutting carbs, sugar, and processed foods over time, that and portion control. Then I kept off the scales 😉. Fats and proteins will keep you feeling full. What was a real shocker was after I eliminated hydrogenated anything on top of my restrictions, my cholesterol was back in a very good range.
What was also shocking was after I started doing serious research on foods that I thought were heathy only to find out they were not.
I don’t get a starving feeling anymore, it’s surprising how that went away once my diet was squared away.
Carbs will always make you crave more carbs. I still eat carbs but strategically, often trading good for better carbs.
Carrying a gun has gotten so much easier and more comfortable since I dropped the weight, even after loosing the first five pounds, then ten pounds was real noticeable.
I concentrated on the process not the scale. The funny thing is I would go for a couple of weeks with little loss, then I would get on the scale and four pounds were gone 😲. For me it was about a five week cycle, something I never understood 🤔.
 
So, NO quick fixes such as these injection pens everywhere. I read recently those cause loss of muscle, etc. Of course, these companies will not disclose that kind of side effect but have another list they drill down to avoid being sued.

The thing I did was make good choices that I could live with and stick with them. I stayed away from weekly weigh ins and just stayed at it. This last year I lost 20#, close to 25# the year before so I wasn’t in a hurry, just as long as my weight kept going down regardless of how little.
 
First, the whole "less calories in..." does not work long term. Your body will adjust to it quickly.
CUT OUT CARBS. Yes it is that simple...but, carbs are hidden everywhere in processed foods. Too long to get into plus I forgot the details, but processed foods have many ingredients used as fillers and texture modifiers that are not listed (by some goofy laws/regulations) as carbs. Also, carbs are carbs, our bodies see/use them the same exact way whether from natural sources like fruits or high fructose corn syrup. Obviously the concentration in the latter is far more dangerous, again, carbs are carbs. Also we do not need to consume any carbs at all, our bodies make any glucose we need from fats/proteins. Fats/proteins make us feel satiated, carbs make you want more because your body doesn't get the protein it needs. Also SUPER important is getting proper amounts of vitamins/minerals. D3 is a big one were almost all very deficient in. The food pyramid they have been pushing on us since the '70s or '80s is completely UN-scientific. It was created by the grain industry. Oatmeal, whole grain breads, etc = garbage. They spike your GI not to mention here in the U.S. they are full of chemicals that cause all sorts of problems at the cellular level. Basically, eat whole foods, meat mostly, some veggies, very little fruit, two reasons, carbs as mentioned before, and chemicals. Veggies have some too but generally don't absorb anywhere near as much. Carbs also feed cancer cells as well as the bad bacteria in our guts, protein starves them!
Seed oils <aka 'vegetable' oil> EXTREMELY poisonous like cigarettes. It's highly processed. Many chemicals and heat to extract the oil from seeds (NON OF IT comes from vegetables), process is like 99% efficient. More chemicals to take away the stink and flavor as the processing it turns it rancid. HIGH in omega 6 which is very inflammatory. "Heart healthy" is a HUGE lie.
Some folks espouse to the "everything in moderation" diet plan. That does not work, just slows down the rate of how bad your health goes down hill. Think about this applied to smoking, one pack a week is nowhere near as bad as one pack a day right? BUT does make it good?!?!
All that said, this is just the basics, again I forget some details plus it would make for a crazy long post, but do your research.
Geez, what a first post huh? I've been lurking the forum a while now and finally decided to log in when I saw this thread about CC while "pudgy".
 
OK, back on topic.... I was 5'11", compression over my 6 plus decades squished me down to 5'10". I have a large frame and more then average muscle size, lifted a lot in my 20s, had almost all physical jobs, stayed active coaching little league, played in adult baseball/softball leagues to my late 40s/early 50s then porked up. Started lifting again mid 50s. I'm a lean 225....but with an extra 30lbs "winter insulation" <aka, fat;)>.
That said, I have no problem carrying IWB a full size 1911 at the 3-3:30 and heavy cant in a kydex holster. I wear a t-shirt under regular shirt. Makes it a bit more comfortable when carrying something with a highly textured grip, like my G3C I sometimes carry. The 1911 is my main carry but occasionally carry the G3C or RXM. I wear a 2X shirt which is a little snug across the chest and biceps but loose around the old spare tire. Even the 1911 doesn't print normally. No problem with the cant, just notice a bit in the car as the seat belt buckle is right over it.
Also as you can see in the picture, I wear suspenders, I think they're great, don't have to really cinch down my belt to keep my pants up with that big hunk of metal on my hip, even the plastic 9mms with 15-17 round mags would weigh it down a bit. Wish I would have discovered suspenders decades ago rather then last year!
Also discovered this year, horizontal mag holsters. I used to drop a mag in my hip pocket along side my wallet, not the best. I tried the standard vertical type in various locations but those were very uncomfortable, jabbing and printing.
Even with spare tire overhang I really do not notice them with single stack .45s and barely with double stack 9s. FOr giggles&grins I tried to see how many I could conceal and how many would be comfortable. Had them at 1, 2 and 10 o'clock, no problem.

One thing I have found very helpful with IWB holsters is covering the inside of the holster next to your body with a sticky type material so I don’t have to cinch my belt so tight. Suspenders are great also.
