Sup All,

It's been about 7 years since I put my XS sights on and they aren't bright anymore. They were ok I didn't have any complaints. I don't really know much about sights could you all give me some choices you use? Will be for a 1911, xd tactical and xd compact. The Tactical is used for my duty weapon btw and will have light.

Are you talking about the fiber sights? If you are, I have not used those, but I'm not a fan of them. They seem to me to not be so well protected and could be damaged easily. Or just fall out. But again, I've never used them, so maybe someone who has can give you their thoughts on them.
Yeah I always thought the were kinda cheesy but figured I'd ask. i'm sure someone has run em here. Love to get first hand info

Hi,

My favorite sights are the tritium SpeedSights.

For SA models:

All my carry guns have an optic or SpeedSights. A few of my (range fun) units have a fiber optic front sight that works OK in a well-lit room.

I think I read once that a fresh set of tritium sights get dull after 10-12 years. Does that sound right?

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I swear by Trijicon night sights now. Trijicon has been around for a long time, has great customer service and they will re-vial their sights for a very nominal fee of $19 per tritium lamp. No other companies do that. They respond to inquiries unlike so many companies these days.

Whatever sights you chose be sure to check the date code which should be printed on the sights. Lots of 'new' nights sights that are expired or ready to expire being sold on the internet. The tritium should be good for 10-12 years. Most night sights are 'planned obsolescence' when they fail.

Bad experience with a failed rear night sight within 6 months of purchase from one of the other suggested vendors, got no response to phone calls or emails for warranty.

If you call their customer service and buy the sights direct from them, you can send your slide to them and they will install the sights

I like Dawson Precision fiber-optic sights.
