Happy New Year, all !

One of my fav 1911s is my stainless Springfield Garrison full size in .45. So I decided some time ago to get the 4.25” model - also in .45 cal - when circumstances allowed. It arrived earlier this week.
Somewhat to my surprise, it has a ramped barrel rather than the feed ramp integral to the frame. I’ve had ramped barrels on 9mm 1911s, but never on my 45s.

Anyone else have a 4.25” barrel .45 Garrison? How is yours configured?

I don't have one, but the SA web site says this for the 4.25" Garrison models in 45 ACP--

4.25" Forged Stainless Steel, Match Grade, Fully Supported Ramp
It does indeed !
There seems to be several ways of describing the 1911 ramp variations. Funny thing is, they all work.
First time I’d seen that in a Springer ‘11 though.
Also, I think it’s first time one of mine arrived (out of 5, maybe?) with the barrel dirty from test fire.

My Som had a 4 1/4” TRP classic in 45 and has a ramped barrel.

It runs like a sewing machine and not a big deal other than traditional folks might not like it.

Ramped barrels are really an improvement on 9mm 1911’s as the bullet is just enough smaller the traditional barrel can have more issues (Sorry but a Colt 9mm 1911 will have more issues not much but will have a feeding issue before an SA with ramped)

45 it diesnt really Mather either one is good.

And someone that knows 1911’s is Larry Vickers and he even states the same thing
