RCBS UPM 3 Powder measure

Just picked up one, shouldn't of, but I did. RCBS doesn't offer separate metering stems, you have to buy the cylinder with it. If I knew this I would have bought a early model like the QC. But.. I recently learned the QC cylinder fits the UPM 3. But... LOL I can't find the cylinder, plenty of stems, but no cylinders. RCBS site doesn't list them. A rep said they have to get enough requests to offer them separate. Another thing I don't like about most PM's is the hopper only pushes in the casting body, unlike the UPM 3 that threads in. I really that option AND I got a competition hopper as a courtesy with a baffle and cap with a new casting replacement under warranty .... when I got the parts, the cap was missing to find out I had to buy the hopper to get the cap. I told the rep I got the hopper as a courtesy and he sent me one out. Seems they really work with you but drop the ball on other things ???

lookin to use one PM. Lee powder hopper is too small for me, and all I want is to swap out the metering stem for different cartridge/powder charges. I had Lee PPM's before, and don't like the aluminum/plastic set up. My father in law had a Lee turret press with a plastic indexing washer... didn't like that idea. Very little do I like Lee. I like thier collet neck dies, and dies in general for practice/plinking loads, but that's it.

I had 2 of thier perfect powder measures, I didn't care for them, plastic rubbing on aluminum. And RCBS has a lifetime warranty. They take care of you no matter what, and Lee doesn't, the warranty's are crap ! I have dealt with them, and they are horrible.

Never had an issue with Lee's CS. Always have been professional, polite and helpful. They have always sent me the first part for free.
I reload 9mm bulk on a loadmaster and I completely rebuilt the bed of the press after 250k rounds and I paid almost nothing for it. I mean like $20 or less for all the parts including the aluminum bed casting. That is the only Lee press i have and it is only used for 9mm.

I get it through, you dont like Lee and that is ok. Thats why they make so many different brands.

Lee only guarantees for a year, RCBS is.. LIFETIME. I had used stuff, no questions asked, no proof of receipt no first owner crap, etc.... Redding, is better, Lyman is crap too, although I have a few lyman tools. All American 8 Turret, a free Tumbler, and the Accu touch 2000 works fine, sometimes the touch screen needs to tapped a few times but most of the time it's fine. Any more QC even with RCBS has gone down hill. I had to have them send me a new casting for a new UPM 3, and as a courtesy they sent me a competition hopper and baffle. I was willing to buy it but they gave it to me. THAT'S Customer service. Die parts for obsolete dies, worn out shaft for my trim pro, press handle for crude bullet puller collets I had to clean up,

Die parts for obsolete dies, worn out shaft for my trim pro, press handle for crude bullet puller collets I had to clean up. Whenever I had to deal with Lee it was always not long after the year time frame. Tech support are a bunch of nit wits... I had a neck collet die and thier instructions say, pressure on the ram sizes, but all along it was the mandrel/decapper was making contact on the base case web preventing the collet from seating against the upper tapered sleeve enough to close the collet enough to size the neck. Can you follow that ? The tech reps couldn't. The problem is, the aluminum cap recess wasn't deep enough for the mandrel to clear the base of the case..... shortly after I went round and round with them, I bought another die, and noticed the recess deeper, then bought another and it was shallow, bad QC.
