Noob Question - Hellion Lubrication

I am getting ready to take my new Hellion on her maiden voyage tomorrow or Thursday (probably Thursday, likely lots of black ice tomorrow). I’ve taken it apart and cleaned off what I thought might have been remnants of packing grease (and everything that didn’t look like it belonged), and I’ve lubricated according to manual.

The manual did not seem to indicate as many spots as I thought might need to be lubricated (bearing in mind last time I cleaned a rifle (M16) was circa 1995 or so 😂, and that was military standards).

Might someone be so kind as to give me some ideas of how they lubricate their Hellion to prevent as much wear as possible, along with maximum functionality.

Be kind - first rifle in long, long time.

While you all seem helpful, I wasn’t asking WHAT to use, I was asking points of potential excessive wear that are not indicated in the Hellion manual as lubrication points.

Probably do as BassCliff mentioned and check out some YouTube, though I find nothing more infuriating than watching a 10-20 minute video for information that would take me 2 minutes to read/interpret.

Since you didn't ask... ;) You might remember that I'm a Shooter Lube advocate.

I'm sure you know, as ageneral rule, any metal on metal parts that rub need lube. I know, just call me Captain Obvious. :p

I tend to over-lube the first few times until I figure out exactly what needs attention.

Just in case you missed my edit...

"I tend to over-lube the first few times until I figure out exactly what needs attention."

The product is very forgiving, even when you're a little too generous with it.

I use break free CLP and just follow the manual instructions that came with it. Pardon the repeat, but I have been unable to remove the trigger pack on my Hellion. Have not taken it to a gunsmith to rectify, but will have to do so some day to clean the trigger. Let me know Lab if you can get yours out of the gun. I'm afraid of breaking plastic by how hard I push without getting it to release....

I agree with @BassCliff.

When i got my Hellion I took it apart, checked cleaning and lubricated pretty much everything with a very light oil like Rem Oil 1st (don't pick on me here lol), then wiped it all down.

Then went back and any parts that looked like they could touch, slide on, rub, etc. put your Shooter Lube on.

After a few range trips all the moving parts have found their path and you can go back to normal manual lubrication.

I always have been an over lubricator on a guns 1st few trips to the range. You're not going to hurt anything that a cleaning won't fix with a few extra points being lubricated.

I did not get it out on first breakdown (before firing). I am hoping after a few hundred rounds it might break loose. I’ve had more than one handgun where I couldn’t get something broken down until after lots of rounds downrange to loosen up some parts.

I have noticed online that more than a few folks have trouble removing the trigger pack. I’ll let you know after the range in the next day or two if it helps me at all.

@Jfal, I had a tough time removing the trigger pack when I first got my Hellion also. The first time can be tough. I'm a little stubborn sometimes though so I kept going at it. After reading the disassemble instructions and trying to remove it multiple times I think I finally realized I wasn't getting enough push on the locking tab. I think I squirt some Rem Oil up around the tab and kept playing with it until, I think, the tab moved up a little more and the trigger pack came out. I think you just got to keep working the locking tab.
