No, I don't want a saliva test!

I keep my MT cell phone number, but live in Idaho. Saliva test scammers call me about every two days. They show up on my phone appearing like the calls are from various MT cities and towns. Hello, Mr. (first name)...I am sending you your saliva test!
Since I have a medical background, I have some cheap entertainment through conversing with them, inundating them with medical questions. They have no idea what I am referring to, and get pretty agitated after getting nowhere with me. I usually end the call with "I don't accept scams from foreigners in mud huts."

Thing is, they are no longer in mud huts anymore. More and more are domestic scammers. About 2 years ago, they almost got my Mom and her life savings from one of their computer scams. She clicked on a site that planted malware on her computer, took control of her computer, claimed they had her ssn and were in the process of extorting her of her money when she finally told me what was going on, via my sister. They had her open an account in another bank, and transfer the money to that account from her bank. They were going to go in and directly withdraw all the money from that account. When I found out about it, I told her to immediately put a hold on that account through that bank. I drove the 3 hours down to Tampa and started unraveling all of it. It was a nightmare. Having to change ALL of her account passwords, put a freeze on her ssn through the 3 credit bureaus, and put her bank account temporarily under my control until things cleared up. She is now paranoid of everything that comes up. She even had a problem with setting up her account online with her Primary Care because she didn't understand or trust them with needing her ssn to set it up. My sister did that for her. My Mother was far from ignorant when it came to online sites and transactions. She had a lot of her stuff setup online between her computer and tablet. Now, she distrusts everything. Almost to the point of not wanting to have anything to do with technology. I was able to setup her bank alerts to her phone and tablet so that she knows every transaction that takes place to ease her fears somewhat. But, this was an eye opener for both me and my sister as to how vulnerable her and the senior community really is. And, it shows that the scammers are no longer just overseas. They are now more prolific on our soil.

😊. I used to answer the phone ——County Sheriff’s Office, may I help you” and they’d hang up pretty quick. No though they’re all robocalls so I just block ‘em. They’ve been trying to give me my $67,000 loaned now 3-4 times a DAY for the last three months. I always block ‘em and “Danielle” always calls back with the same message from “United States”I bet I’ve blocked 200 numbers on this one scam

I had somebody from “Germany” hack our computer several years ago. I’d went to the Epson site to download installation software for a new printer-turns out it was a fake website-screen turned black and lines of code began scrolling up. I realized what had happened, immediately unplugged the machine and replaced it (it was old anyway😏)😳. On the advice of a good friend who makes his living with a major computer co, We then went in and put a lock on our credit that day with all the credit monitoring companies. I’d not bought anything on credit for the last 6 years (use established cards-pay off monthly). We went out in November to buy the wife a new car. Found what we wanted-told the dealer not even try to run a credit check because ours was locked-I’ll be back tomorrow and we’d do it then. Went hame-made the required calls (2 to each agency-1 for wife 1 for me) and unlocked our accounts for 24 hours. Went in the next morning, bought the car, accounts relocked that afternoon. It’s a pain to do BUT nobody can open an account in your name while they’re locked, so for us it’s worked out great..

Yep, I realize they are in large call centers now, but I like to get my digs in. :D
These scammers disgust me. So much so that I don't look at them as being human. They will take everything you have and not blink a remorseful eye. It's ridiculous that we have so much technology, but cannot trace where these vermin do their dirty deeds. I would love to know where they are. Knowwaddeymean?

Good idea! Think I'll try "Immigration and Customs Enforcement, may I help you?"

I always ask the scam callers for their social security number and credit card info. Tell them if they want my time they will have to pay for it

Another fun one is to tell them you are surrounded by sharks (or wolves) and need their help

If all else fails and the caller is a woman, I ask her what colour underwear shes wearing because if she wants my personal info that we should get personal.....she gets my attention if she says NONE

I have a alert that shows up on my phone that lets me know bad numbers so I answer "Shadow Security System, case number and badge number" I get a immediate hang ups.🧐

When I was a young, I stuttered some, so for crap and giggles, I’ll answer the phone and see what they want, then I start stuttering again……at first they try to continue, but I just get worse, then suddenly the phone goes dead…..🤣🤣
